Has anyone had 3 Phone them about Add Ons??

Last night when I went online tyo check my 3 bill (I suspected that some texts I was recieving were chargeable - as it turned out the evidence was inconclusive as the online statement was not itemised for the period I wanted to look at)

Anyway I was having a root around and I saw my Add Ons - Mobile Web (which I had agreed) and TV Channels (which I hadn't to my knowledge) So I contacted 3 via email and in turn they toild me they could only answer me by phone.

So I have just rung them and guess what?? Apparantly I agreed with them to add it when they rang me in April (although I suspect longer as my bills have been higher than I was expecting for a few months now). It doesnt actually show Add Ons on the paper bill I get so I just assumed I'd been going a bit mad on the text competitions.

So now to my main point - I think I remember the call. It was a "junk mail" thpe call where they just rabbit on about some flash new service and I must have kept saying "ok" as you do when you are not really interested in what they have to say and they are speaking in a thick Indian accent so you've not got a clue what they are saying anyway.

I just wondered if any other 3 customers had been "trapped" like this. The add-on is cancelled now so at least I've stopped the money going through

i did get a call from them regarding this "TV channels" thing too....they were quite sneaky in that they said "Sir, you are now entitled to watch TV on your mobile!"....no mention of a monthly fee or anything like that until I decided to ask them about it....best beware when dealing with such dodgy calls

  • I always say to such callers it not my phone and I'm not authorised to make changes, don't give them chance to reply before hanging up.

I had this call several months ago. I never agreed to any new services yet they still added them. I was suspicious so checked my account online and promptly cancelled. I didn't get charged but I wasn't happy about the sneaky way of business.!
