Wireless adapters

Hi

We are just upgrading to a wireless broadband connection with AOL (it was easier for keeping all our contacts etc) and have just found out that we need adapters for each of the computers we want to add to the network.

I have looked at the AOL shop and they recommend Netgear Wireless USB 2.0 Adapters at about £20 each or Netgear WNDA3100 adapters at £46 each.

Can anyone tell me what sort of adapter is best and if I can possibly buy them any cheaper and if so where.

Thanks

You only need the wireless adapters if you are planning to use the internet wirelessly, you can still plug into the router for internet access. Check ebay etc as wireless adapters can be picked up for very little

If any of the computers you are trying to network are laptops, then they will have wireless networking built in, if they're not more than about five years old.

If any of your computers are in or near the room with the router, then you will probably be able to connect them with a network cable, hence you won't need a wireless adapter for that particular machine(s).
