got an interview late October and also a job offer for a handy man.
then as luck would have it I had to go into hospital to have an operation for a kidney removal(cancer).
hopefully I might still get a chance of an interview in January(mobile care worker for the deaf as I can do sign language) .
I mention to the boss that I couldn't attend the interview as I have to go in hospital on that date.
he was very sympathetic and said ring back in January..so fingers crossed.
as for the handy man job well I lost that.
sod law eh! after trying for several months then this has to happen.
never mind I'll just have to keep trying once the Doctors give the OK to work.
I've always been active so sitting and short walks is not doing me much good.
by the way I've never been out of work since 1968 till march this year.
even easy jobs like packing card board box's I'm over qualified.
skilled job(welder/fabricator) I don't have enough qualification,
I just can't win. the folks at the job centre have acknowledge this and sympathetic.also I think in most case's I'm a bit old (58).1 or 2 have ask how old I am..oh I don't think this job will be suitable for you????????????
well at least give me a try, sorry we can't..........
I don't feel down , I've gone pass that. I don't need a lot of money to live but £64 aweek isn't enough if only I could get a part time that'll pay £120 aweek or even a full time but I'll want more than £120. we'll see what happens in the new year. john

Thanks, John.
I'll bear that in mind.0 -
a bit puzzled
He's being nasty - he's a bit of a horrible person.
Good luck with it John. I hope you find something to do. Maybe a good way to get back into work would be to work as a volunteer, using your skills working with deaf people? Would give you more recent experience on your CV.0
