Bad experience with O2 and their couriers City Link
I'm getting messed around massively by the Dumb and Dumber of the mobile world.... O2 and City Link.
I have been a customer of O2 for a number of years now but recently they have become a nightmare to deal with.
I lost my iphone last week whilst on holiday and O2 said they could deliver a replacement within 2 days. I explained that I was "on holiday" and that I would not be there to sign for it.
Am I making sense so far?
Yes, I thought so.
Fortunately, or so I thought, I have a Concierge Office where I live who are there to collect deliveries and sign for parcels. I explained this very clearly to the lady in O2 customer service who said that was fine and that the delivery company - City Link - would leave it with them.
When I returned home from holiday there was no iphone in the Concierge Office. Apparently City Link will not leave deliveries with Concierge Offices.
I then called City Link who referred me back to O2 and O2 said they would "put a note on my account" to say "Concierge will sign for the delivery".
That was supposed to happen today. No prizes for guessing they didn't.
So, back on the phone to another number I found for "fulfillment" and he promised me that this time he will send them an email request to leave it with the Concierge Office.
Well, we'll see!
So, I have now decided that O2 do not deserve my custom and I will not be renewing my contract with them when it expires in 5 months.
I recently heard that iphones will soon be available on the Vodafone network so I may try them.

They are Available on Orange and Vodafone, and you can get it on T-Mobile too if you ask the customer services as t-mobile seem to buy them from elsewhere.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Hardly a nightmare - if you were on holiday and didnt have a concierge they couldnt deliver it - so no worse off really0

For the record - O2 do not, ever, use City Link for deliveries.
You are dealing with O2 Insure which is provided by Marsh - an external company. I can't imagine your experience would be any better with any other of the networks' external insurance companies.0
