Grr s much info and confused, I want to live my dream

Hello, right firstly for some reason my keys are not typing well so there will be missed letters and no spaces I imagine!!!

Ok, so I am currently doing a diploma in childcare, work 4 days and college on a friday, weekends off, sounds lush at 25 but not so. I am also a singer, with not many gigs, they start comig in in december then again for summer season.

It is a real good opportunity to do what I am doing but I really am not enjoying it....to be honest never stick to anything.....part from my entertainment career!!!! therefore I would prefer to do that even though is not stable.

If did college full time in music what benfits am I entitled to?

My circumstances are:

Livng with my partner (just over the last 2 month)
He earns 14,000-15,000 a year includig commission...
Rent 650 a month
Then regular bills
we are both in debt but we keep all finances sep apart frm rent and bills
I am going to have to start a cccs plan due to debt
I know I should work full time to pay debt but also i am miserable and want to fulfill my dream in music....

Any advice x

Your finances would depend on what level of course you're looking at doing. If you could give more details we might be able to help more. In addition to the course level, what would you be hoping to get out of it?
  • I am looking at doing a foundation degree in music , I dont know where I would go after but I would have my fdn degree...Iam 25 so mature student but because i am living with my partner I dont know what benefits I am entitled to and if I would be able to cover my rent, I know I would have to get a part time job too, although in the summer I will be singing most nights in new show as of april xxx

Funding for a Foundation degree is the same as for an academic degree. You would be eligible for a loan to pay the fees and a loan (possibly a grant as well) for maintenance. You won't have to pay council tax so there will be a 25% discount on this.
