Winning bidder from USA on UK auction

I hate trying to find an answer on Ebay, it takes forever, and their pages are not much help. So I've trawled through their discussion boards for the last 3 hours, not much fun as I'm under the weather at present. AND I lost all the references that I cut and pasted to word. Arghhhhh!
Anyway a bidder from USA has won my auction (UK only)
I thought I could just cancel it or something but apparently not, because its finished.
It looks as if I'll have to send it, but that doesn't seem fair. They do the wrong thing and I get the aggro.
In the past I have lost out sending stuff abroad as parcels went missing.
Can anyone help, please ? I'll be back later.

Others may be along in a minuite but -
1) If you made it clear that the item will be posted to a UK address only then I would not have thought you would e under any obligation to do otherwise.
2) If you choose to post the item then IIRC the postage cost you stated will be for UK addresses only.
Hence, the way I see it you are quite within your rights to either refuse to send the item and refund the buyer's money on the basis that they bid on an item that wasn't eligable to them, or advise them of a revise postage charge and wait until they forward the correct sum.
Having said that, none of this will prevent the buyer leaving you negative feedback if he or she chooses to.
Personally I would take the second approach. Find out the postal costs to the UK fully insured against loss and damage. Advise them that it was a UK only auction and if they wish to proceed then the extra postage will be required, or you would be happy to refund the money and go to e bay to claim back the fv fees via an unpaid item.

If you only wanted to post the item to the UK, you should have only allowed eBayers from the UK to bid and blocked international bidders.
I would probably send it to the USA. Find out the exact costs to ship the item and then tell the buyer.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Refund them and re-invoice them with the postage cost to the US. That usually puts em off!! Then if they don't pay start an NPBMy broad mind and narrow waist are slowly swapping places!!0
