Barclaycard Platinum Card

I have a Barclaycard Gold card, that I don't use very often, and this week I received a letter saying this would shortly be replaced by a Platinum Card with extra features etc etc.
It's not going to have an annual fee but I can't help thinking there is a catch to this somewhere.

Has anyone else had this letter ?

I have not received the letter but I am a platinum customer. There is no catch to this they are simply upgrading / migrating your card. I believe there is a section in the banking code in regards to changing accounts that advises that they cannot transfer you to a fee paying account or any account that would be of disadvantage to you. If you are really suspicous (and patient) give them a call and ask them

Other then the card colour you'll find nothing else will have changed. No catch as far as I know.

A few years ago I was 'upgraded' from a Gold Barclaycard to Platinum automatically. Back then I fould that there were some significant benefits, in particular enhanced customer service for platinum customers. Not now though, Barclaycard have one of the worst customer services, Platinum or not.
