Radiators v underfloor heating?

Not exactly an "Is this a fair quote?" more like "What would be a fair quote?". I'm considering a new build (one of a pair being built). They are 4-bed detached houses. The builder has said that we could choose whether to have underfloor heating rather than the radiators he has included in the price as this hasn't been started yet. Obviously he would charge more. Can anyone tell me what would be fair price to expect?
Also, don't know much about underfloor heating but is the idea that you have it everywhere, upstairs and downstairs? The builder seems to think that you would want radiators as well as underfloor heating if I understood him correctly.
Any help gratefully received.

Hi there, we have lived in our 5 bed house for 18 mths. It has rads upstairs and UFH downstairs. After this length of time we would say that, if there are people in the house most of the day UFH is pretty good (once you get used to it). If the house is going to be empty most of the time, say 8 'til 5 then rads would be better as they are much quicker to respond to the temperature you want. I wouldn't say you need UFH AND rads on the same floor. I hope this gives you a little more info to work with.0
