I'm self employed and own a big 4lt Jeep worth about £3000, I need this vehicle because I offer a powerwashing service and tow a 300gl water bowser, without the Jeep I would be unable to work, I can't sell it and get something cheaper as I need this size vehicle to pull the trailer and a lot of my work is on site were I need a 4 wheel drive.
will it be considered to be a 'tool of my trade'? because like I said if I was made to sell it I would be immediately unable to work.
thanks

It could be considered a tool of trade or exempt for employment, it is at the OR's discresion, it would help if the work it provided left enough surplus for an IPAHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

Hard to say 100% but I would say you should be fine, as you say it is needed for your business so it should be classed as a tool of the trade.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Hi Lattelover,
As others have said, you may well be OK, but if the worst happens you could look at a used Shogun/Pajero. Ebay usually have some good examples at less than £2,000 and they should be able manage the job of pulling the bowser and normally have a choice of 2WD, high ratio 4WD, low ratio 4WD and diff lock.
