in Credit cards
This is going to take a bit of explaining but please stick with it!...
Recently i paid off my credit card balance online (approx £700) and the first attempt to make the payment failed so i made a second payment, however both payments went through!
On talking to the credit card company they understood and said they would refund one of the payments back to my debit card.
After a few days the value of one of the payments had been refunded to my debit card account but both payments to the credit card were still showing as being there.
Now two weeks later, both payments to the credit card are still there so my credit card is approx £700 in positive balance and the money has still been refunded to my debit card...so i currently have approx £700 of the credit card companies money.
My question is do i have any legal entitlement to this money or can i expect them to ask for it back at some point in the future?
Thanks in advance

I would let them know as soon as they realise the mistake they will chase for the money. Even though it is their mistake if you spend it they may class it as fraud as you've spent funds that aren't yours.0

Eventually I think you will have to give back the money, but there's nothing stopping you from keeping quiet about it for now and see what happens.0

You will have to give it them back, don't spend it0
