o2 Home Broadband can't have it for 6 months???

I am doing a 12 months free home broadband now which is due to end on 13th December 2009. However, I have noticed a very good cashback on orders for new home broadband from topcashback or quidco and worksout like 20 pounds per annum after accounting the cashback.
If i continue with my o2 from 13th december onwards i will have to pay £7.5 a month which i do not want to as i know by going through the quidco or TCB i could make it work out to 20 for a whole year.
today i called up o2 and asked them to cancel my o2 home boradband on its expiry of 13th december 2009. But the bloke said, if i cancel it now i could not get o2 home broadband for next 6 months. Is it true? I only had ordered the cancellation with the hope that i could order a new one through quidco as soon as it expires. TBH, I can not pass a day without connected to internet.
Is it true that if i cancel my o2 home broadband i could not order it for the next 6 months? can any experienced please comment?

I think it's true also, I seem to remember seeing it somewhere but can't find it now, it does however say it applys to subscribers who terminate prior to their cooling-off period ending, but that doesn't really apply to you.7.3. You may terminate your contract within the first 14 days after the Services Connection Date (the “Cooling Off Period”) by giving us written notice, to be receivedinstallation address for six months after the end of the Cooling Off Period.
by us no later than the 14th day after the Services Connection Date. You will receive a refund of all connection and subscription Charges incurred by you
during the Cooling Off Period. If you terminate your contract during the Cooling Off Period, you may not be able to request the Services at the same

After the 12 months are up - you can ask them to offer you a deal if you sign up for another 12 months they should offer £4.48/month0
