Credit Card Application Advice

Hi everyone!

Looking for a little bit of advice,

Circumstances

I am a full time student with 2 jobs and my income is about £1100p/m all in. I have a Virgin C/C with £3950 left to pay (currently 0% till End of Jan) and a Halifax Card with £0 balance. I am looking to open up a new C/C for a balance transfer in Jan ;). When I apply will I be classed as a student or employed, I currently work 28hrs P/W.

What would my chances of getting accepted be? Most likely the Abbey Zero card.

I have a good credit history. Car loan fully paid, Mortgage ongoing, no missed payments, credit cards, no missed payments.

Thanks in advance
:D

Based on the information you've supplied I would think you have a pretty good chance of getting that cc. Not sure how your status as a student would affect anything.

On any application you should put down full time employed, but check what they define as full time employed, there maybe a minimum number of hours like 35 hours. Check the minimum requirements for the Abbey Zero Card (like minimum salary required) to make sure you meet the criteria.

Worst case they would reject you, you'll still have the option to apply for another company's credit card once or twice more before your credit rating takes a hit.
  • Thanks for the quick reply!

Having had a look at the credit cards summary box, there is no detail on eligibility, nothing re employment, min income etc. It all relates to apr, charges, payment allocation etc.

It seems to tick the boxes for me so will probably apply towards the end of Nov, so it is ready to go in Jan. And if not back to BoS to see if they will give me a LoB transfer rate that is competitive.

    Cheers,

Anyone else with any suggestions please feel free :D
