I used this service and they were very efficient - my husbands was very straight forward though.
I just have to send it off to a probate office before I lose it!!!0 -
I submitted my form on 26th January and apart from an acknowledgement have heard nothing. I tried emailing yesterday and today and all my emails have bounced back....... does anyone know whether there is a problem with them? Has anyone had recent contact from them? Thanks0

Hi rosedee
I've confirmed with totallyfreewills that its email is functioning fine if you would like to try and email it again.*** Get the Martin's Money Tips Free E-mail at www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips ***0 -
I've used them, very happy with the service. The soliciter chosen was in Pembrokeshire, I live in Hampshire, so not sure of the selection process for choosing the soliciter. But seeing as they are keeping the original will in their safe, I may ask for it to be returned to me as the distance between us would make it impractical should it ever be needed (not for a long time!).
One point, one of my 2 executor's details didn't transfer from the on line form to the soliciter, so his details were incomplete in the copy they sent me for signature (middle name and address were missing). I checked the word document version of my original form and for some reson it had the executors' details twice, the first time incomplete the second complete. the incomplete set was copied and pasted into my will. The soliciter re-printed that page and resent with no problems. Make sure you check thoroughly before signing.
Do not name the soliciter as your executor, it removes all forms of competition and they can charge what they like and provide the level of service they like when the time comes (and they know that grieving family will not want to get into 'money saving' arguments). Appoint executors and they can decide which soliciter to use based on all the normal decision making process when paying for any service.
Read the user guide before completing the form and if anything in your will is not what they class as a 'simple' will then you will probably need to go direct to a will wrtiter. Other than that, good service and good opportunity to save money and complete something we all mean to do but never seem to get round to.0 -
I have gone through the process -saved etc - only to get a message saying that they were too busy at present and would email me within 7 days to advise - that was a couple of weeks ago - I have logged on a couple of times - but always getthe same response!0

Ditto !
And they do not respond to emails on the subject.
Wonder if the MSE exposure has toppled their business model i.e it just isn't scalabe0 -
My application has progressed over the last 2-3 weeks quite well. They just asked for extra info to verify my identity - passport number, driving license, electricity supply number and national insurance number. My "identity theft" alarm went off in my head, but I guess they are somewhat established, so entered some details. Not enough, apparently, and they'll need to call to verify who I am.0

I've just used this servce to make a will as I have 2 children and it's been playing on my mind for a while now (I'm only 40 but the kids lost their mum to cancer aged 30 and I live with a new partner now). It was so easy, despite my fairly complicated circumstances, so don't be put off if you think your situation is not straightforward, this site may still be able to handle it. Took me about 20 minutes, the site is very easy to navigate and every page is saved so if you get interrupted and have to logout you can pick up where you left off next time you log in. I will let you know how it progresses, how quickly the solicitor sends a copy of the will for me to sign etc. I'm just going to forward a copy to the probate office, and a copy to each of my 2 executors (a brother and sister). That should be enough peace of mind.
And please make sure you all give a cash donation to a nominated charity!

What a fantastic site, thank you MSE.0 -
The Pobate Office will store the original will for a one off fee of £15. It's the safest place for storage as commercial companies, and solcitors, can go out of business which the Probate Office can't. The Probate Office may be happy to store a copy for £15 but a copy of a will has no legal standing.
Good idea to give copies to the executors..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0
