confused about LLU line rental/broadband options

just moved into new apartment. phone has dial tone but no service. bt say its ready to be enabled no fee and that I can go elsewhere for line rental without using them.
the initial contract for the flat lease is only 6 months, so i'd like to go with a phone provider that doesn't have a min 12 month contract like post office or madasafish.
for broadband i'd like to sign up for 02 premium with quidco, first 3 months free. i know it's min 12 months, but it will still work out cheap even if i cancel after 6.
just spoke to O2 broadband sales and sales guy is convinced that I cannot use the Post Office with O2 broadband, though he doesn't know about madasafish. I got the impression from other posts that Post Office/O2 combo was okay.
i know the restriction has something to do with LLU, but i'm a bit confused as to how it all works.
any help or alternative suggestions appreciated. thanks.

Depends if the PO service is LLU or not, I thought the PO were just a virtual operator? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Called Post Office Home Phone and got as far as £107.66 connection fee. No matter what I said the lady was insistent that we'd have to pay it.
Called up madasafish and order is being processed. No connection fee. Confirmed that I can use O2 Broadband LLU once the line's set up.0 -
You're sorted but just for the record the Post Office service is just reselling a BT product (which I assume MadasaFish do too) so would be OK on O2 or any other BB service which says "BT line required".0
