Despite ringing them twice to confirm dates for oversee travel Lloyds have thrice blocked my card.
On speaking with an advisor they divulged they have no control over the system and it is fully automated. Kind of defeats the object of phoning them to let them know where you are off to !
Whilst i understand the need for fraud checks it is highly annoying and quite frankly embarrassing to have ones card declined on such a frequent basis. And thats not to mention the cost of phoning them to get the thing freed up !

I have phoned Lloyds to advise them that I was going abroad (Europe & USA) and never had any trouble. The one time I didn't call them when I went to Australia, a 5 minute call to their 24h helpline got my card working. Strangely, I was able to use my card to buy train tickets at the airport but couldnt get money out of the atm :-\
I should specifically add that I called them prior to going to USA, Latvia, France and Italy, never had an issue in any of these countries. I'd imagine going somewhere a bit more off the beaten track might get their fraud systems a bit more excited.0
