hi

i have been kind of asking a bit on this forum for help regarding saving.
my situation is i am 36 and have about 25-30k to invest.i dont need the money untill about 5-7 years when the kids hopefully go into further education.
i have had 2 risk assesments done and im clearly classed as a medium/adventourous risk taker. i also have no planned big expenditures.
i currently have an cash isa with 7500 and have not contributed in this tax year. also i have 17000 in a guaranteed saver which was 6% but now 0.5. and various other bits around.
i want to try and manage my own portfolio thus getting best possible discounts and saving the ifa charges.
i plan to transfer cash isa into s&s isa and make up the full allowance this year.then use the rest of the cash in oeic.
i think i may use hargreaves and lansdown services to manage all the money.unless and one knows better?
my question is i need to balance my portfolio with a % of funds in sectors along with fixed interest etc.....,could anyone give me a typical guide for a medium/adventurous investor?
thx for any corrections or help
