Hi,
The company I work for has granted me a number of shares which are due to vest soon. They are an American company. What I would like to know is what type of tax liability will I incurr when the shares vest?

They will be viewed as income based on the market close price at the day that they vest. Usually, the company requires you to pay the Employer's NIC as well.0
