Venice??

Hi, I have been looking for days on trip advisor etc for a 4-5* hotel reasonably priced, venice hotel, I am happy to pay a decent amount, up to £375, and would have liked a grand canal view room, but object to paying the £850+ for a night at the Danelli et al in a broom cupboard sized room!
I am looking for a nice room in the st marks/grand canal area, walking distance from alot of the sights, can anyone recommend anywhere?

Mnay thanks

    I'm quite taken with priceline.

As long as you stay in Venice, and not on the Lido or Mestre, everywhere is pretty much in walking distance anyway, and you will get some nicer less touristy areas in say Canneregio than too close to St Mark's Square or the Rialto and much better and cheaper places to eat of an evening.

I don't have £350 to spend on a hotel room for one night, but think if I did I wouldn't spend it, as you are mainly in the hotel room to get changed and sleep... I would rather stay for £46 a night in Canneregio - and stay for a week.

Have a look on the Citalia site. It has one free night on three night stays for quite a lot of dates for Venice accommodation only deals.
  • Thanks I wil take a look at citalia!
  • We have stayed twice at Locanda Vivaldi which is situated overlooking the St Marks Basin a very short stroll from the Danielli and therefore near St Marks Sq.
Lovely place with history surrounding Vivaldi himself.

You may get a room within your budget especially if you search around on the internet and maybe call them to try and get a deal direct

    Amazing place

Just to add they also do one night free in 4 I believe

Have a look on Trip advisor - we stayed here and it was beautiful - overlooked a small canal just off the Grand Hotel - had a couple of rooms with balconies and the breakfast was fantastic- warm apricot croissants - really want to go back and really not too expensive
    Titch :)
