4 months left on passport

Just booked cheapo Ryanair flights to Tenerife for December, by which time there'll only be 4 months left on our passports.
Is this ok for Tenerife? Or do I need to renew the passports before I go?
They expire end of April 2010.

No, you'll be ok as long as you have an EU passport. It's only if you are travelling outside the European Economic Area that you will need at least six months.0

The trip to Tenerife will be fine. If you are planning to go abroad in summer 2010 you would have been slightly better off renewing your passport before the price increased £5.50 in September as you would have been credited the remaining months on your current passport.0

Another thing to remember is they are rolling out interviews for passport renewals as well as new applications. Therefore the sooner you renew the less chance you will have to attend an interview which lasts 20 minutes and may be miles from were you live. Given you have about 2 months before you travel I would renew now.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

My passport is due for expiry soon so I will need to renew. My passport name has 3 names on it. My first name, middle name, and surname. However, I am known by people and on other documentation as my middle name and last name. Also, my middle name from birth has a different spelling 1 letter which I am known as. Also, my first name is more of a spiritual name. I want to know when applying for my new passport if I can only put my middle name and surname which I am known by to cause less confusion with other people and also amend the spelling. Thanks.0

There's a passport office near to me (Liverpool) but I can do without the hassle.
Think I'll renew now. Thanks.0 -

This all sounds very complicated. I think you would have to have the correct spelling of your 'full' name on your passport. You also have to make sure when booking holidays or flights that they are booked in the same name as your passport too.
If you generally use your middle name, would it be out of the question to change your name legally to avoid any potential problems? I don't know the reasons why you use your middle name so I would understand if the answer is no.DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

If it is a passport renewal and you want to change your name from the name on the passport you need evidence - ie a bank statement, a council or government letter in the is name format or if it is a major chnage you will need a change of name deed or a statutary declaration.
It is absolute rubbish that you need an interview with a passport renewal.Titch0 -

The interviews aren't so bad, even if you do get called in for one.
You go in, friendly official (not, that isn't an oxymoron) says hello and introduces themself. You do things like spell your full name, they ask a bunch of questions, like, 'could you tell me the name of your bank, not the account details, because we don't know and don't need to know that? Do you have a credit card? Which company? Did you use check and send or post the application to us?'
95% of the stuff is what is available to anyone on a credit check, so they aren't asking anything too personal; if anything, it's less personal than a credit application. The remaining 5% are simple things. I didn't know my father's birthday, so she asked where my mum was born instead.
Passport arrived at 9am on the second working day after the interview.
Seems a pretty easy way of them being sure that your application is genuine. I don't see the problem with it, anyway.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Do you need an interview if you are having a passport renewed? I thought it was just for an initial passport application.
