Gifts for a teacher, but not in your normal way!

Its my best friends birthday coming up, and Id love to make her a hamper (did one last year and she loved it).

But shes recently qualified as a teacher and is starting her first job in January :)

Im so proud of her for getting a job that Id like to make a teacher themed hamper! Happy to make it a bit of fun as well.

So far Ive come up with ear plugs and a nice mug (for the staff room). But I cant think of anything else that could be classed as teachery?

Any ideas?

A pocketful of patience (could be made like a flat pin cushion and then used as a coaster, try putting some dried lavender in it for its calming properties!).

Stickers for the children (can often be found on the freebie forum).

We use green pens instead of red - so maybe a selection of pens.

A selection of break time pick me ups - sachets of hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and some of her favourite biccies.

depends if its primary or secondary really

the former would suggest a bottle of wine to help wind down - the latter - scotch or gin

in either case pair of slippers for when she gets home, a bell for her bike, some leather elbow protectors and a pipe

some CDs relaxing and soothing, some holoday brochures now she gets 10 weeks a year

    .. er that's it
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine
  • some packets of stickers or a 'well done' stamp for marking the children's work.
  • Board rubber and pens
    Stickers or teachers stamps
    Nice scissors and stapler
    Desk tidy
    Drawing pins/paper clips
    lamanating pockets
story books for age group going to teach

    Stuff for her :
Sore throat tablets, nice box of tissues
    Hand cream
    Anti-bac spray
    chocolate or snack bars
  • for ds1's teacher I did a survival box. I decorated a shoe box and added the items each with their own tag

paperclips - to hold it all together
marbles - for when you've lost yours
tissues - to wipe their tears and yours
    chocolate - just because
mini bottle of wine - for emergencys only
rubber bands - for when your stretched

there was a few others but I'm sorry I can't remeber them all. If you google teacher survival kit loads should come up though.:D
