Lightbulb moment - help !

My wonderful HA have upgraded my bathroom ceiling light to a zone 1 and 2 flat to the ceiling jobby with 2 15w savetheplanet bulbs. It's like the black hole of Calcutta in there

The message inside the fitting says max 15w bulbs. Could I use 2 x 18w bulbs instead without blowing up myself, the house and half the street ?

Or is there anything else I could do to increase the artificial light level in there ?
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

If the fitting says max 15w that is what it is designed to take, I would not recommend going over the manufacturers specified rating.
There are different shades of white on energy saving lamps it sounds like your light is yellowish ? being dull ? try getting a cool white lamp in there that gives off a brighter white light, once its been on for a minute or so it'll warm up so to speak and get brighter.
