blacklist / failed credit check

ok, i was on the phone to vodafone and failed a credit check, i dont understand why or how but basically...
the house was a reposession, and there have been a lot of bills to the previous occupant that we have returned, it seems the bills have never been paid... so basically would this have caused the house to be black listed.
if so how much is it to have this removed.
also if there is a reason i have been listed would i be able to get it removed. i dont know of any reason and if there is anything unpaid its because im unaware, everything is direct debit and everything is paid in days...

I didn't think houses were black listed any more and that it was only the person?0

Pingu is right, houses and buildings are no longer blacklisted but the person who owes the money.
If you've failed a credit check, maybe get a copy of your credit report to check all is ok?:j BSC Supporter 290 :jDreading but looking forward to BR date- 27/10/09 @ 9:30am****No. 1 October 2009 Club*****Previously known as *br* on MSE**0 -

orf the top of me 'ead...the address may be associated with the previous occupant....application to the credit reference companies can ascertain this, and get it removed. No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0

I'd guess that was the problem then. A few years back Orange wouldn't give me a contract phone as I'd only just moved and wasn't yet on the electoral roll. A few months later when I was on it they gave me a contract with no problems.:j BSC Supporter 290 :jDreading but looking forward to BR date- 27/10/09 @ 9:30am****No. 1 October 2009 Club*****Previously known as *br* on MSE**0 -
hmm i hope thats all it is, dont wana have bad credit rating, ive always paid everything when it comes in.
if anything isnt paid i wil be shocked, and if there isnt i am happy to pay straight away, i have not recieved any letters that state i owe money or any unpaid bills, if this is the case, will it be removed from my credit rating if i pay them and inform that i never recieved anything???
if not how much will it affect my rating? and how can i improve it i plan to take a loan for a car soon ...0
