I'm, looking to do my first trade, probably around £500. Who is the best company to buy from and what will the costs be. Also if I buy over the weekend do I get them at the price they ended on Friday?
Any advice welcome, thanks.

Who is the best company to buy from
There are many companies out there to buy shares through. The easiest way perhaps, is just to setup a sharedealing account through your bank.what will the costs be.
When purchasing shares there are 2 costs. There is stamp duty, which is 0.5% of the total purchase, and secondly there is a broker commission which is usually around 10-15 pounds per purchase. When selling shares the costs are just the broker commission, agian 10-15 pounds per sale. Also if I buy over the weekend do I get them at the price they ended on Friday?
Markets are not open at the weekends, so you cannot buy shares over the weekend. You can however, set an order now to buy them at a certain price when the market opens. However, when you place orders outside of market hours, you may not get them for the price you wanted them when the market opens. If you can, just buy them online when the markets are open.0 -
