What would you like to see in a booklet about the house you were renting?
This is what I've thought of so far:
Heating and hot water controls.
Emergency numbers
Contact details for landlord
Stopcock.
What to do if something trips the RCD
Milkman number
Local shops opening times
Who gas & elec are with.
What have I missed off?

What a great idea.
Wish places I've rented had come with a manual.
How about who the phone line was last with, and whether the place has a Sky dish or cable TV point already installed?
Local council phone number (for registering for council tax)?0 -
"Milkman number"
You still have milkmen in your area.....??? I haven't seen a milkman in years (in Lothian, Scotland)0 -
-
Rubbish/recycling collection days. Or details of local bottle/paper banks etc
Details of local bus stop and route number
The property's Postcode and full address.0 -
Good idea - here is my suggestion:
Local Dr's surgery location and telephone number0 -
Copy of instruction manual for: cooker, washing machine, any other items (I keep the original myself!)
Copy of Gas/electricity certificates + energy inspection.0 -
good ideas so far...
we did this when we rented out our property, just wish our landlords were as helpful
One thing we have come stuck with in current rented place - nearest good chinese takeaway - ideally one which delivers.. weve found the indian and the fish and chip place but can we find a chinese - nope!!0 -
The menus come through thick and fast all week - but I spose personal recommendation is always good.
Our nearest doesn't deliver - so perhaps worth mentioning both.0 -
I think there's a limit to how much you put in. Take-aways? Then what about nearest church (sorry churches: C of E/Mormon/ etc), schools, cricket club, ....
No - I'd keep to house-related info and let the tenants explore the neighbourhood themselves!0 -
Decent pubs"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
