From Dublin Airport to Tolka Valley

I am trying to work out the cheapest way to get from the airport in Dublin to our hotel , address Tolka Valley? Been told that its only 4.5 miles from the airport but can not work out from the airport bus info and searching on here the best method.

Would be most grateful if you could point me in the right direction

Thanks

The easiest and cheapest way to get from Dublin Airport to Tolka Valley is to buy a Rambler ticket at the airport. It will cost you 6 euro and allows you to travel all day anywhere on the Dublinbus network. It also includes the dedicated Airlink 747 Airport- City centre service.

The best way for you to get to your hotel is to catch either the 747, 41, 16a. Ask the driver to let you off in Dorset Street. Then cross the road and wait for a number 40a which will drop you off at your hotel.

The 40a is a frequent service that will also take you from the hotel to the city.

The Rambler is the best ticket to use for one day only. If you are in Dublin for 3 days the best value ticket is the Freedom ticket which allows you 3 days unlimited travel on all bus services including Airlink and Xpresso and also the Hop on Hop off Dublin tour which is well worth it. The Freedom ticket will cost you 25 euro. Bear in mind that to take the Hop on Hop off tour will cost you 15 euro on it's own.

By the way the Ardmore is a good hotel. Breakfast is a bit expensive. We always went to the Kylemore cafe in O Connell St next to The Spire for brekky.

    Hope this helps
