Hi there
This is my first thread, so I hope I'm doing it right.
My friend who works for WWF told me about this.
Smile, the internet Bank ( they're part of the Co-op Bank) are donating £50 to WWF for every current account that's opened from the WWF website.
I went to the site and they adopt an orang-utan for you too. I just recieved the adoption pack and you get a really cute fluffy toy, some pics of your orang-utan, some animal screensavers, an adoption certificate and a green tips book.
Just go to http://www.wwf.org.uk/core/takeaction/smile/smilebank.asp and click on the link on the page.
I don't know a huge amount about the current account, it looks pretty good, any smile customers out there, let me know what you think?
Thanks
Emma

Welcome Miffy......pandas I like...fluffy tailed deer too,,,but surely orang utans are a bit over the top. I know they need saving but just thinking of their rear end, puts me in a negative mood.
Perhaps just £50 to the WWF, or better still into my bank account for me to spend on a charity of choice.0 -

Oh, wow! I am slightly obsessed with orang-utans so am tempted by this offer! How sad is that?! I already have one adopted orang-utan, but the more the merrier!0 -
Hi, I'm interested, thanks.
Just had a look around the website as well, very interesting.0 -
Hi
You can get cash back for opening a bank account via quidco or similar (£50 A&L, £45 First Direct, £30 Cahoot) so if you wanted one of those accounts instead (A&L is/was martin's tip for best current account) you could sign up through Quidco and donate the cashback to the WWF or whoever.

I was very lucky last year and got to go to Borneo for my hols. Whilst we were there, we went to the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary - a pretty amazing place. They have big problems over there at the moment as the malaysian government is making cash hand over fist by selling vast tracts of virgin rainforest to companies for palm oil plantations
Amazing creatures and so human to watch!(I think it's the proboscis monkeys that have the funny a$$es
)
Anyway, if you are interested but don't want the bank a/c you can sponsor an orangutan for a year at http://www.orangutan-appeal.org.uk/ for £25Adopted one for my mother in law for her birthday - she loved it!
