Laptop insurance - any tips for finding a short policy (2 months) for holiday??

Wasn't sure if I should post this in the 'travel' section. Sorry if I've got it wrong...

I am off to Australia for a 6 week holiday, starting next week. I will be taking my Macbook with me (it is less than 6 months old and bought for roughly £1300).

I must (ashamedly) admit that I don't currently have contents insurance for my flat. And am reluctant to take it out as am likely to me moving very soon after I return from my trip. 3 of my friends will still be living in the flat while I am away and the only real item of value that I have - the macbook - will be coming with me.

From what I've seen, most travel insurance does not cover valuables / single items for more than a couple of hundred pounds, which is obviously no good to me. So, I'm thinking I should perhaps take out a laptop insurance policy for the period I am away.

Is anyone aware of laptop insurance I could take out for just 6 weeks or so?

Also, if I was to do what is perhaps the sensible thing and set up contents insurance for my flat (in London) , is this likely to cover a £1300 laptop being taken to Australia for 6 weeks?

Any help at all with this is much appreciated? And any travel insurance recommendations also? Big thanks
