Yes its unacceptable for them to send someone else's address but mistakes do happen and you haven't lost out financially.
In answer to your query about getting out of the agreement you have zero chance and to be frank it's quite a ludicrous suggestion that you should be able to on the basis of what's happened.0 -
Bit of an overreaction in my opinion, and it sounds like you're trying to use it as an excuse to avoid the ERC. It is an error which doesn't have any real impact on you, rather than causing slight inconvenience. Can't see how it can be regarded as a 'nightmare'.0

so you wouldnt mind if mortgage details with your mothers maiden name on them, your DOB, how much your house is worth and how much our mortgage is, along with your employers name, your bank sort code and account number and your mortgage roll number were sent out to someone else? they were able to tell me the details had been printed on that date ( the computer apparently tracks what is printed when) they have not been able to tell me where those details went, they did not come to me. that makes me angry. in doing nothing dangerous myself i am now open to identity theft and fraud and you dont think that is a nightmare?
i will complain to the FSA, i wont expect to get anywhere and i appreciate all your comments on the matter.took on Abbey, Barclays and woolwich and WON. starting new life in Canada! debt free from March 2013!!!0 -

No one is saying it's not apalling!! But it's an accident. Would you really hope someone loses their job over a genuine mistake which probably won't have any impact on you and in the unlikely event there is a fraud resulting from it you'll get yourself sorted at their expense anyway!
Your statemtent that sticking the wrong letter in the wrong envelope is illegal is just dumb. The fact you want to get out of your commitment because of this is a bit over the top and won't stand up to scrutiny.
Despite the shabbiness of this big brother government, the fact that organisations are being forced to tighten up their procedures about how they handle personally identifiable information is a positive. Ultimately every bit of PII an organsation has will be documented and stored so it's all traceable. This takes time however.0 -
It sounds like a genunine mistake, but again it underlines the incompetence of Barclays/ Woolwich. I'm assuming you used the non-advised service via a non qualified telephone monkey for this app rather a proper trained one in a branch.
Don't get me wrong you can get sound advice over phone from an adviser but not through Barclays. Their staff at BDM in Leeds and Cardiff are often young kids pulled in off the street and can't even spell CeMAP never mind go anywhere near to attaining it.I am a Mortgage Adviser and Freelance JournalistYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
