Visas issued back in the 80s were intended to be valid for life (I had one) but the rules changed and it was decided that the visa lapsed with the passport. Check this out with your visa - it is probably no longer valid.0

There's already a $6 fee for entering the US under the VWP. If you enter by air, it's included in the cost of your ticket. If you enter by land, you have to pay it yourself.0
