Virgin Mobile Faulty Handset

I have a Samsung J600 bought from Virgin Mobile in April 2008. On the invoice it states that the Warranty is for a period of 12 months, however the after buying a new Samsung handset again from Virgin I noticed on the new handset Samsung guarantee the handset for two years. So I checked the old handset and it is the same for that so is covered by warranty. I emailed Virgin Mobile and said that the handset has a screen fault as it flickers on and off and is sometimes reversed. They have said that a screen fault is deemed to be accidental damage and as such is not covered and that there warranty is only for 12 months. However I have tried to tell them that as I bought the handset from them my contract is with them and they are responsible. I have already asked for details of their complaints policy to take this matter further.
If someone could advise the correct route/ procedure to go down that would be appreciated.
Many thanks.
Rob.

Samsung offer a two year warranty, so it may be easier to contact them. Though, technically speaking, Virgin should do the legwork.
If it does turn out to be deemed accidental damage, it will be down to you to prove otherwise.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Similar problem. Rang Virgin. No help. Took to Carphone Warehouse and asked for it to be repaired under the Samsung 2 year guarantee - fixed.
I think they have a repair contract with Samsung.
