Eurostar delayed train

Does anyone know if Eurostar provide compensation for delays after changing onto TGV train at Lille. The ticket was booked fully through Eurostar and was about 45 minutes late.

Looks like they only pay compensation if the effect of the delay was that you could not complete your journey the same day, when they may pay reasonable accommodation costs up to 10x the fare plus an unspecified number of phone calls..

There is another section of the terms and conditions that states an announcement will be made if compensation is payable, but I've just noticed that it has to be an hour or more. Will send an email anyway, the worst they can do is say no!

Thanks Bob, really helpful:rolleyes: As far as I'm concerned it was 45 mins that my 3 year old Son could have spent in Disneyland, and I know that compensation is payable for delays over 30 mins on the trains here so if i'm entitled to something for the hassle, then I will claim it:mad:

It's over an hour here - with FGW anyway. Other TOCs may vary. And it's in vouchers.

Crikey, its hardly worth kicking up a fuss about 45 minutes.

Do you kick up a fuss everytime your bus / train is late or you are having to wait at a supermarket or McDonalds drive thru?
• When I was delayed late on a Sunday evening at Brussels for over THREE HOURS, the train guard announced that we would be entitled to a free single journey within 12 months. It also states this on their website:

Am I entitled to any compensation for my delayed journey?

Any compensation entitlement would depend on the nature of your delay.

If you're entitled to compensation, the train manager will make an announcement before you disembark your delayed Eurostar.

How do I claim my compensation?

You can redeem your compensation at any time in the next 12 months (from the date of the delay) by calling our Traveller Care Team directly on + 44(0)1777 77 78 79.

I don't chase them, I treat the people being loaded off them! I'm a Student Nurse that saves very hard to afford this trip on a bursary of £600 a month (for working 37.5 hour weeks), which doesn't even come close to covering my childcare costs

So call me an idiot if you like, I don't really care!

I don't take my child grocery shopping or use the Macdonalds drive thru so I can't really comment on that part.
• So how did Eurostar being 45 minutes late destroy your trip?
From Poland...with love.

They are (they're)
sitting on the floor.
Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

I have not said my trip was ruined, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Maybe my comments have been lost in translation, Polish. Or you are just a troll with nothing of value to say. Either way I will stop replying to this thread now, as I've got the information I need. Thanks
