When the sickness came, every parent, police officer, politician - every adult - fell ill! The lucky ones died. The others are crazed, confused and hungry. Only children under fourteen remain, and they're fighting to survive. Now there are rumours of a safe place to hide. And so a gang of children begin their quest across London, where all through the city - down alleyways, in deserted houses, underground - the grown-ups lie in wait. But can they make it there - alive?
Barricade yourself in from the disease-ridden grown-ups with a Zombie Survival Kit. Survival kit to include some or all of the following: DVDs, fake blood, tshirts and torches.
Where are the children living to hide from the crazed grown-ups at the start of the book?
In an attic
In Waitrose _pale_
In a park
In a school

I think the answer is In Waitrose. Richard Bacon interviewed the author, Charlie Higson, on Radio 5 live. Here is the programme transcript:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00mdysz
At approx. 07.34 minutes into the programme, Charlie starts reading the first page of the book. He says "small Sam was playing in the car park at Waitrose ...... blah blah, the rest of the children run inside Waitrose". If someone else wants to listen and confirm, that would be great
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.0 -
Thank you for your help. I have just listened to the interview and confirm that Waitrose is the answer.
(I think I might read this book after reading the reviews and watching the trailer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jUXsJOlmoY Maybe there will be a comp to win it! Please don't do what I did and watch the trailer while eating lunch! _pale_ _pale_ _pale_ :rotfl:)0
