Weird phone call from someone saying they were from Provident

Hi, I dont really know if I am posting this in the correct place, but as lots of people read these threads I just had to tell someone, The Mrs just had a call from someone saying they were from Provident, they had her name right, but she hasnt been a customer of Provident for 8 months or so, anyway they informed her that as a valued customer she could have a loan, straight away they said, all she had to do was give them her bank details and they would put it into her account, sounded dodgy, as far as I know provident were and still are doorstop collecters, just may be nothing but if you get a call from someone saying they are from provident, and you really need the loan they offer, tell them you will ring the office yourself to confirm, dont give anyone any bank details
