Loan settlement
Hi,
Looking for some advice.
I am sending a cheque away today to pay of a loan early that I owe to Northridge finance. The thing is my next DD is due to come of on the 9th. The girl said that I should leave the direct debit open and any extra money taken will be refunded if the cheque hasn't cleared in time.
I don't know whether to do that or just cancel the DD now.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Marco

Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!

Marco,
Better to find out what you owe after this months payment goes out and time your cheque accordingly. Particularly with the weekend coming up and various postal delays, your cheque may not be processed before the DD instruction goes out.
You definately don't want to cancel the DD, incur charges and a black mark on your credit rating. Nor do you want to be chasing Northridge for a refund!
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

do you actually have a settlement figure... it should be clear whether that includes or excludes the next DD0
