:(Beware when comparing the price for hotels abroad. I was booking for a hotel in New York and thought that I had thoroughly researched the options. I had chosen a hotel (thanks Trip Advisor) and compared prices. The booking.com site was giving me a good price and said all along "TOTAL ROOM PRICE" and I believed them. Only after I had filled in the credit card details etc. do I find that there are taxes to pay when we get to the hotel. Other sites had included the taxes. We have not saved on what we would have paid if we had booked direct with the hotel.
