which site best for REALLY last minute hotel (ie tomorrow night)

If I wanted to book a really last minute hotel for tomorrow night, which site is the best not only in terms of price, but reliability - that my booking will be there when I show up?

Lastminute, Expedia, Travelrepublic, hotels.com?

Any experiences or advice gratefully received.

Thanks

I never find lastminute.com that cheap? If you know where you want to go its always worth calling the hotel direct.

  • In the UK we got a great deal recently through late rooms.

Have used expedia and last minute before and never had any problems but normally book it a week or so in advance.

You need to check them all.

    add laterooms to the list.
for main destinations there are also hotwire and priceline

Don't forget the hotels direct either on-line or by phone.

I use the Holiday inn deals as my guide for pricings.

Well DON'T book using Asda hotels as they take up to 72 hours to send you your hotel voucher. We were able to check-in with just the receipt of payment but were supposed to have the voucher.

So I would try a different site next time!

Always worth a quick look on Ebay.

Consider turning up without booking, you can usually get a better deal as they are aiming for 100% occupancy, a latecomer is their last chance that day. If they are full try the next one.
