Girona is quite a way from Barcelona itself, but there is a frequent bus (or so I am told, I usually go with Easyjet and they fly into Barcelona itself).

I usually go self catering and I use http://www.oh-barcelona.com/

You can also try http://www.bcngotic.com/ - they have some nice apartments very central.

  • There are regular buses to a lot of coastal and inland areas from girona airport, the ticket office is in the airport or there may be one open by the bus stands which are to the right as you leave the airport. It takes 45 minutes to get to Lloret or 1and a half hours to Barcelona. There are lots of little towns between Lloret and Barcelona that may offer cheaper accomodation but are on the train route. Many self catering ask for a 100e deposit when you arrive, just e aware of this so you can allow it in your budget. Tickets cost is approx 9e to Lloret and 15/16e Barce. Watch out for pickpockets they are very clever here, have a look at some previous posts in the forum for some of the devious ways they operate. Maybe look on holidaytruths and holidaylettings.co.uk for accomodation, but asda, aldi and thomas cook had cheap apartments available when I last wanted one.
