public liability insurance

Hi everyone,

I am wedding planner/consultant and i need public liability insurance...
i have looked at a few companies but the only problem i have is that as a newish business i do not have available funds to pay it in a lump sum payment, does anyone know of any insurers that will allow monthly payments by direct debit.

the quotes so far for a one off payment for each year are :
£348, £277, £303 and £298

thanks in advance

    Are they online firms? Most insurance brokers could probably access the same products and they will have premium credit arrangements in place.

    Note - interest free installments on commercial insurances are as rare as rocking horse poo.

    I assume your running the business from home, if you are having visitors to your home it could invalidate your home Insurance.

    You can buy a combined Home and Business Policy which will be ideal for your business as it will cover Liabilities, any stock, equipment, money, legal and exhibitions. The cost is generally circa £100 more than a normal home insurance, have a word with a local broker. (They do offer instalments on Home Worker policies)

    Hi Chaos

    I am a wedding planner and had the same problem - I got my public liability insurance from More Than Business and I currently pay £13.34 a month (basically because they stuffed up as I should have been paying less than this a month, plus they gave me £50 of capital bonds which I used to buy a new watch). As a wedding planner you will also need professional indemnity insurance and I got mine from Hiscox and pay £11.81 a month (both of these are interest free). Mine are both paid by direct debit from my buisness account.
