Hi all.
Have had a look through some threads for the answer but to no avail.
My sister has a meter fitted for the water consumption with Essex & Suffolk and is billed for sewerage by Anglia Water. I just wanted to know if Anglia speak to Essex & Suffolk to calculate the sewerage charges from the amount of water used?
Thanks for any help.
Cheers Si

The calculation is that sewage is 90% of consumption, at least where I am.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

It can be 90% or lower or in the case of some companies it is a lower amount of money per cubic meter.
Also what normally happens is : You get one bill from the company that supply the clean water and they then pass on the portion to the company that does the unclean water/ sewerage .There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I have found out that Anglia (sewerage) get their info from Essex and Suffolk (water) once each year in April apparently. I assume they then calculate the bill and average it out over the coming year.

I'm also in Essex and am bemused by the fact that I pay more per month for sewerage than I do for water supply. I'm metered.
Should this be the case? I pay £18 a month for supply and £25 a month for sewerage."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0 -

Yes can be the case with water companies in UK.
The costs to deliver water and to provide sewerage are calculated separately and the total divided by the number of customers.
So if it costs, say, £200million to provide water, and £300million to provide sererage, then you pay more for sewerage.0 -
