Natwest Debt to be

Hi there I need some advice on how to deal with a Natwest account I have. Since being upgraded to a Maestro card back in April I have been subjected to loads of charges (obviously my fault for using my card when I shouldn't have and going overdrawn when I didn't have the funds etc) Last 2 months these charges totally over £600.00. I've gone overdrawn and don't have a limit. Have spoken with Natwest who say they could accept £210 a month for 6 months to cut my overdraft arrears - but I really cannot afford this. I have opened a different account else where for me to use and really just want to pay off Natwest. I filled out the letter regarding the charges and thats totals over £1300 for the last 2-3 years, but that is whether they are still paying on charges. Really need advice on how to deal with this issue as isn't actually a debt - but I know it will be soon as they will keep charging me until I clear the £900.00 overdraft.
Should I write to them? Couldn't get far on the phone. Thanks
