Travelling with an infant - what to take??

I am due to go on holiday for the first time with OH and DS (8 months) in 2 weeks :j:j

As the worlds biggest worrier I'm compiling list after list of what to take for him and was wondering if anyone could tell me what isn't necessary and anything I've missed. We're off to Playa Blanca in Lanzarote for a week all inclusive. I use to rep over there so I know that there is a supermarket nearby but I never had to look for baby milk, nappies or wipes before so I'm not positive if they will sell them.

Here's what I've got so far

7 x Day Outfits
7 x Shorts
7 x T Shirts
7 x Night Time Outfits
7 x Shirts / Smart tops
7 x Trousers / jeans
3 x Sleepsuits (In case it gets cold at night)
3 x Vests (In case it gets cold in the evening)
3 x Swiming Costumes with built in SPF 50
Sandels for day
Shoes for evening
Trainers
Coat/Pullover
Sunhats
Bibs
Towels
A few toys
Lightweight blanket (for in his pushchair in the evening)
Suncanopy with built in SPF50 (folds up into nothing)
Pushchair
Toiletries
Baby Lotion
Baby Bath
Talc
High Factor Sunscreen / Sunblock
Nappies
Wipes
Nappy Bags
Changing Mat

We've began weaning him but I worry about what food I can give him and he still has a 2/3 bottles of milk/day
Baby Milk (unsure whether to take powdered or ready made)
Baby Food Jars (I know that I'll probably get shot down for admitting that I use them but it's not for everyday just in case there's nothing suitable at the hotel)
Bottles
Steralising Tablets

I know it seems like a lot but he suffers with reflux and is a very sicky baby so he can only normally wear something once, I also have all of the clothes (Thanks to the Next Sale :D and generous grandparents) so I wouldn't have to buy anything but as an infant he doesn`t get a baggage allowance.

Thanks in advance

You can buy disposable bibs in supermarkets. They're much easier than trying to either wash bibs out in the bathroom or trying to get week old food stains out when you get home!

Take a jumbo pack of nappies and attach a label with your name and flight details on it and check it in seperate to your suitcases. I've always done that and the airlines have been happy to accept them and it saves so much room in your case.

The only missing thing I could see was swimming nappies. Not sure how well he's eating, but I found a biscuit to chew on took their minds off take off and landing.

    Have a good holiday xx
Here I go again on my own....

We take ours abroad - the only thing I can see possibly not on your list is baby friendly mosquito repellant. Don't forget the medicines either (Calpol and the like).

The swimming costumes with the built in SPF50 I take it are the full body suit (covers arms and legs) type affairs - if not I can recommend those as you are not having to constantly reapply sun lotion. If you can get them to wear sunglasses that helps (baby ban things with a strap) but not worth getting stressed out if they won't wear them.

What do you plan to do in the evenings once the baby has gone to sleep? We usually sit on the balcony, so take suitable entertainment for that (travel scrabble, a pack of cards and a few bottle of the local wine usually does the job).

Re food - the locals have babies so there will be baby food (as well as nappies, wipes etc) available locally, albeit at a price.

If you are hitting the beach, its worth taking a couple of small tupperware type containers to put small food items in (if they are at that stage yet) for when on the beach or going out. A small cool bag to keep drinks in is also worth taking.
