Hi,
i am just in the process of setting up a debt management plan with national debtline (who were really helpful).
I owe £17500 and at £100.00 a month it will take me 15 years to pay off.
Has anyone else got a dmp if so can you make the years you pay it off less?
Can you get a new mortgage when on a dmp as you cannot open any accounts?
Do you get regular statements?
Has anyone else had experience with national debtline?
Thank you.

Hi
I have a DMP through National Debtline, although National Debtline reccomend the DMP, CCCS or PayPlan will run it.
When you can afford to increase your repayment your repayment term will reduce, as long as your creditors are willing to freeze interest and charges. If they don't do this initally write to your creditors yourself asking them to reconsider.
I receive a statement every month and I still receive statements from my creditors.
Good luck with itDMP mutual support thread member:3270 -

I'm 2 months into a 63-month DMP with CCCS. They have been really helpful, and yes, you do have access to all your details via their webiste, and can see the balances change month-on-month etc.
I can't recommend them highly enough.Aiming to be debt-free, and have my degree, by 50 ! :j0
