Get a TV with a John Lewis 5 year guarantee at a Richer Sounds 1 year guarantee price!
I just bought a new LG LCD TV. I like to buy from John Lewis as they have a 5 year guarantee on electronics and from experience know they are very good at sorting out any problems if they occur. They will price match shop prices (not Internet prices) with their “Never Knowingly Undersold” policy. So being a moneysaving type I had a quick look around and found Richer Sounds sold the same TV with the cheapest high street price.
John Lewis had a price of £550 with a five year guarantee.
But Richer Sounds always have two prices..
£495 with a five year guarantee
or only £440 with a one year guarantee.
So I applied for a price match at £495.
John Lewis must have just rang Richer Sounds and asked how much they sell the TV for. The answer was £440. So I get a letter from John Lewis sent to my house stating that they sell for £550, that I said Richer Sounds sell for £495 but actually they sell for £440 and they would match that price. I now have the TV and a John Lewis receipt stating a 5 year guarantee. All for the cheapest price possible!!
