I am new to DFW and have decided to clear my debts via the snowball calculator - I am a married Mum of 2 and feel responsible for our situation as I have always sorted the finances. My husband was out of work for a long time, but thankfully has just started work again last month, so we will eventually get back on our feet again. My Credit Cards and overdraft are now maxed out and I am v short of money at the moment - pay day next week. This has pushed me to take a good hard look at our finances and take some action. I don't want to go down the route of a DMP if I can avoid it and would hope that I can manage to pay off the debts over the next 2-3 years. I have been reading this forum and there seems to be a lot of encouragement and no one judging:T, so I am taking tomorrow to do my calculations (approx 11,500 debt and now that my husband is working again monthly income has gone up to £2400). I will let you know the SOA tomorrow - please wish me luck!

I only posted here for the first time today, though I have been a member for awhile. I feel better about my situation for facing it up to it & everyone here has been really supportive

Look forward to seeing your SoA. Glad to see you have already started to plan snowballing! Have you started spending diaries yet for you and hubby? This is another good place to start to help you get an accurate idea of where the money is going.
