Reporting abusive message- help!

I have received an abusive message through ebay's message message centre.

I try reporting it by clicking on 'report it' on the right hand side of the screen.

I then try to send of the complaint, but I get an error- 'copy of message is too long'

I've gone through all the options, but still get the same error. Is there any way to get round this?

Are you 100% sure that it isn't one of those spoof emails?

I've been getting abusive messages on ebay too from my ex. I've sent them all on to ebay but they all come back saying I havn't sent the relevant info. I've sent them the full email header, his user name, his feedback rating, the body of the message and everything but they still keep replying saying I havn't sent them enough info. My guess is that because he buys a lot of ebay and they obviously get a lot of money from him they keep fobbing me off with these excuses and don't actually do anything about any abusive messages anyone gets.

Thanks for the replies. It's not a spoof email.

From 'My Messages' in ebay you can report the message directly- but there's a bug, so if the abusive message is above 125 characters, you get an error when you try to report it.

I've now reported it through the general ebay customer support- don't suppose it'll do much good though.

Why dont you start a new account? Ive always got a couple in case i attract any nasty ebayers or get suspended(which i cant see why i should but they are handy to have).
Ebay are great at taking our money but pretty pants at real problems.

I could do but the problem is I've built up a feedback rating of 1283 and it's taken ages to get there. I dont think I'd like to start from 0 again.

I just laugh at the messages now and think what a sad person he must be if he's got nothing better to do than keep sending them. It is annoying though when ebay wont do anything about it.

@ black saturn - not sure if it's any use but if you did make another user id there's nothing to stop you merging the account with all the feedback to it.

Hope he gives up with his messages. Its a shame that they cant block messages from him.
Maybe start an account just for buying . I have and it got up to 100 positive quite quickly.
