Glasses/sight test while on JSA(IB)

I'm currently claiming JSA(IB), but the claim hasn't come through yet. It definitely should do - it's a rapid reclaim, with no change in my circumstances - but I should be starting FT work fairly soon, possibly before the claim is processed

I could probably do with new lenses for my glasses Am I right in thinking I should get free sight tests, and £30 or so towards the cost of lenses, when I'm getting JSA(IB)? But that if my claim isn't processed before I start work, I won't be able to get this?

People who are on income-based Jobseeker's Allowance are entitled to vouchers towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses. You could phone the DHSS to find out what you are entitled to. I think the number you’ll need is 0151 7084 700.

There’s a Free Eye Test (Normal Price £27.50) and 500 nectar points with Dolland & Aitchison.

But the problem bit is that you might be asked to bring in proof that you are getting jsa IB. I give JC a call and asked them to chase up the claim
