Hello,
First off, no clue where to post this. Maybe a moderator could move it or somebody could suggest a better forum this would me more suited to?
I spent a year living in Australia and paid superannuation into several funds(if i had been more savvy i would have made sure it was just one fund). I would like to apply for this back but not going through the middle man agencies. Im unsure how to do it, i know it might be some work as opposed to getting an agency do it but each fund has about $1000AUD in it and i know after a withdrawel fee is taken and then a third party agency i would be left with nothing left...
Thanks for any advice that comes my way.

I found this on the Australian tax office website
http://www.ato.gov.au/super/content.asp?doc=/content/29516.htm&pc=001/002/064/001/003&mnu=38108&mfp=001/007&st=&cy=1
Haven't had a good read, but it appears you may be able to withdraw your superannuation because you have left Australia.
I have transfered my UK pension to my Australian super fund, which just involved contacting both companies and filling out a lot of forms. I'm sure it would be possible to do the same or similar thing if you contacted the super companies direct.
Hope that helps.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I have left Australia and i am aware that you can reclaim your super. I was not aware you could transfer it to a pension here.... Interesting, this might cancel out the withdrawel fee. I will contact them direct for there advice.0
