Where do I put proceeds from house sale?

Just about to complete a house sale but haven't found a new property yet. I'm worried about where to put my money to ensure it's safe whilst I'm waiting. I'd be grateful for any sound advice on how I should split the money up to ensure it's all protected and safe. I need to have fairly quick access to it if I find a new property though I'd be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks

£100k would be the FSCS cap for a joint account and £50k for a sole name account.

I'd start with www.egg.com and work from there.

If you are more worried about safety than the interest rate and can't be bothered to split it up you could put up to £1,000,000 into National Savings Income Bonds at 2% Gross with instant access, and be 100% protected.
