What stores online/highstreet have you had problems with Coop Cashminder Card?

Hi, newly bankrupt (off to buy a hair dye for the grey hairs I have aquired recently!.. OMG! I can now joke!) I have set up with Coop Cashminder but was warned the Visa Electron was not accepted everwhere (she actually said it was hopeless but kind posters have said it's not that bad)
So to avoid embarrassment I was hoping for a heads up on where I might struggle to pay.
Thank you in advance.

Actually in store I don't think I've ever been refused, online it's mainly Tesco, M&S, John Lewis, but they all take it in the store.
There's a whole thread on here somewhere with places people have had difficulites, but as I said above, it's mainly online.

Here you are, this should help!

Hi MicheH
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: well done - sense of humour essential !!
The only place I can`t use Cashminder is a store chain called B&M Bargains ( I`m in the Midlands) .
They just don`t take electron which is a shame as their prices are very low.0 -
Thats brilliant, thank you!0

I've had a Visa Electron card with Halifax for a couple of years now, never really had any noticeable problems with it apart from pay at pump garages. I can pay in the store with it, just not at the pump so it's no biggie

Some but not all train stations don't take them . Also National Rail online. Some hotel chains don't take them online either. If you are doing anything online and they don't take Electron try doing it through Visa as it sometimes goes through.
Just booked a campsite over the phone and they couldn't take it either.
But all in all I so rarely have a problem with mine in all the time I have been using it.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Hi Kew,
Lloyds can be a bit like that, some people have been missed altogether and the accounts stayed open.
However, I would suggest you open the cashminder just incase they pull the plug suddenly, it's best to have the account there ready to go rather than getting to a panic at the last minute. If you are lucky enough to keep your Lloyds account you can always use the co-op for savings.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Ah is that why the banks are in a pickle, the left doesnt know what the right is doing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Wouldnt be a complete disaster if they said "go-forth" his wages go into my account at the mo - I feel like I've won the lottery !! :j
And if he's nice he gets his pocket money :rotfl:only kidding promise !
But Co-op seems like a good choice to go for and he really only needs it for cash & DD's.DMP Mutual Support Thread Member : 3180 -
