Turned down for Post Office Credit Card

on appeal.

Am on electoral roll, have had a Vanquis Card for 10 months, with all 0's.
Full bank account with an overdraft facility. All 0's.

We've had problems with a catalogue account and a next account being applied for and (in the case of the catalogue) being opened in my name and recorded on Equifax. The Catalogue account has a "1" against it and Littlewoods are clearing the account balance, but say it will be end of this month before tha coount is cleared.

I explained all this to Post Office in my appeal letter.

Now it transpires we've had a letter from a DCA today, trying to contact the previous occupier. Aparently they got her name from a CRA and she's still registered at this address (not registered anywhere else).

I'm aware that the "1" on the bogus catalogue account would have some impact on the application, but what impact will this person (who's being chased by CRAs) details have on our situation.

Is there anything we can do?

Thanks
Capital one £200 - bal nil. Aqua £350 - bal nil
Vanquis limit [STRIKE]£250[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £1250 - bal £450. Nat West overdraft limit - £300, unused. JD Willaims limit [STRIKE]£400 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE] £600 [/STRIKE] £900 - bal £90.

    None at all.

Credit ratings assess people, not dwellings. If you share a financial product (eg. joint bank account, mortgage) with someone else, then you are financially linked to them and their affairs could have an effect on your credit rating, but simply occupying the same house as somebody with a poor credit history, has no effect whatsoever.
People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.
